14 teams in this tournament, all from Europe title sugests. 6 strongest teams goes straight to the quater finals, and 8 have to fight for the remaning two places. From that point it will be straight knockout.
First game betwen Norway and Ireland was a even one, but again Irish luck turned on right when the green side needed it and a single goal made the difference. Romania was strong favourite in the game against Scotland and they did their job well, winning confidently with two goal margin. Football fans sharpen their teeth for the clash against Sweden and Bulgaria, but in the end Bulgarian team did not really put on much of a fight and an easy go trough for "Vikings". In the last game of the first leg Wales show a lot potential eaisly beating Belgium. Though Ireland looked good, they were not good enough for Romania who again show a lot of confidence and discipline on the field. Second team who secured place in the last 8 was suprisingly Wales, who managed to knock Sweden with just a one goal difference.
In quater finals we had some great classics. For example France and Spain met. That really was a close one and no wonder it went to extra time. Spain still had some reserves while France started to fell a bit tired and that made the two goal difference in the end. Romania who looked pretty strong in first two games did not managed to pull off another one, as Italy did not any free space out there. Another classic between England and Holland and again it was extra time to settle things. Dutch players managed to suprise their opponents with a killer strike and then put in another one when they were still trying to figure out what went wrong the first time. Finally the Germans who as usually were favourites had to face a tournament Cinderella - Wales. Islanders put on a really great fight and the game went to extra time, but Germans played to the end. All in all they managed to score five goals and Wales stopped responding after the third.
Semi finals started with a really epic game betwen Germany and Spain. What started as a serious rumble, as both teams punched eachoter time after time, ended with a heavy knockout in extra time. Spanish side did not looked tired and Germans although tried to keep up, soon lost faith after conceding fourth goal. Game ended with pretty much a hockey score and both side will remeber this one for a long time. Second team in the final was Italy who also had a even encounter with Holland. Not that many goals as in the first one but still a nice show for the fans, specialy those covered in blue.
In the last game both teams looked like they were on fire, but only one had their day for real. This time it was Spain who put on a show just like in the game before. Italy looked tired and lost in there, while Spain just keep on scoring like it was some pre season friendly or a training game. 5:1 made the final score and it could be even higher if they keep it sharp shooting till the end. This one went to Spain and no disscusion is needed to settle it as a fair result.
